God sighting

So I'm hesitant to write this blog, but it's mainly because of my own stupidity/thoughtlessness.  But God is bigger than my embarrassment so I have to share it.

So today I went to the Island of Roum again.  This island is about a 40 minute boat ride away from the port of Guinea.  Now by "boat" I really mean a large canoe with a motor attached.  This island isn't that big, it takes (depending on where you are on the island) 5 minutes to walk across it.  If you decided to climb up the "mountain" it would take longer.

So the day was going great.  A little hotter than when we went before, but me being me, didn't really think much of it.  It was probably in the upper 80's close to 90.  Really about the hottest day I have had here yet.  But see my problem was, I wasn't drinking that much.  I didn't think about it.  But then one of the girls I went with wanted to go exploring on some rocks to see what we could find and see.  So I wanted to go along and see more of the island.  When we first started on the rocks it wasn't to bad, besides the rocks being VERY hot, and about 5/10 minutes into the walk on the rocks I got 2 blisters on my one foot.  Didn't think to much of it.  They didn't hurt to bad.  After about 20/30 minutes of walking we kinda got to a dead end.  The other girl wanted to continue on, but with my blisters I opted to go back to the towels.  About 5 minutes after we split up I got 2 more blisters and I started to get dizzy, very weak, and at one point almost blacked out.  Not something I really wanted to do since I was alone and no one could see me.  So I laid down on one of the rocks and prayed.  I told God, the only way I'm going to make it back is with your help, cuz I can hardly move at this point.  I'm almost blacking out and can't walk because my feet hurt.  But see this is where the God sighting comes in.  After I got up, I kept saying, "I need you Jesus, please help".  I made it off the rocks and back to the towels in record time.  I really don't know how I did it.  I was still weak, but the almost blacking out went away, and I was able to scurry across very hot rocks without my feet really hurting.  Praise God!  I got back to the towel and told another girl I was with and she had some powdered Gatorade that I was able to drink and have felt fine ever since.  Well besides being tired now from all the sun.  

God is so good!  It is very true that He can get you though any situation that you need.  Because at one point, I really didn't think I would be able to make it.   This is one of those situations that I really can't say more except that GOD IS GOOD!

So yeah, that was my God sighting for today.  And yes, if and when I go back to the Islands, I will make sure I drink more.
