3 month reflextion
What to write about. There has been so much that has happened over the past 3 months. Wow! 3 months! Time sure does fly by. I am over half way. In 2 months I should be in JFK going through customs at this time and getting ready to board my plane to Cleveland. In 2 months I'll be almost home and so close to snuggling my munchkins! But in these 3 months I have gotten to see and work with, general (hernias, lymphomas, goiters and others), pediatric eye, othro, plastics, maxfax, and women's health surgeries. I can only imagine what all I will see next.
It has been so nice meeting new people and making friendships. But at the same time it is hard too. More people have left to go back home, which is hard. It makes me sad to see them leave and it makes me just a little bit more homesick. And then I think, I have been here for 3 months, I only have 2 left...those 2 are going to fly by! The first 3 have flown by and it's only going to go faster.
I have learned a lot in my small amount of time here. It's nice to be working in a "hospital" setting, but at the same time its not anything like we are used to at home. Our patients are usually healthy and then go get surgery. It can be busy at times and not so busy at other times. The past couple of shifts I've got to play/hold/work with a caregiver baby. Man is she cute! It so reminds me of my munchkins back home. But I've been lucky. Since I have been charge, I got to spend more time with her.
Speaking of charge...It's kinda weird being charge. But at the same time, it's been good too. I just started last week with being charge on the wards. I feel like I'm getting a hold of it...but it's been different for me. We just started a new specialty, Women's health. So it's a little challenging because I don't know anything about this specialty and the nurses keep asking me questions...and I go...ummm...I don't know! But luckily the team lead has been amazing and I can ask her questions at any time.
So those are just a few rambling thoughts I have had running through my mind. There are so many more but I have a charge meeting I have to get to and I want to finish this first. :)
